The 2025 IONIQ 5, one of the most exciting additions to the new Hyundai lineup, is set to bring several exciting updates and improvements to the popular electric vehicle. The 2025 model promises to further elevate your driving experience with enhanced technology, refined design, and improved performance. Here's a closer look at what's new for the Hyundai IONIQ 5.

Battery and Range

One of the most anticipated updates for the 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 is its improved battery and range. The new IONIQ 5 revolutionizes the electric car world with its cutting-edge power storage technology and longer driving distances on a single charge. The N trim now features a robust 84 kWh battery pack, an upgrade from the previous 77.4 kWh version.

While Hyundai hasn't yet confirmed exactly what this new range will be, it's estimated to be at least 240 miles. Non-N configurations are pushing even further. They're now estimated to last about 325 miles, 22 miles more than the previous iteration's 303-mile range.

The IONIQ 5 will have the North American Charging Standard charging port. The charging capabilities are impressive, with the ability to charge from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes when connected to a 350 kW DC fast charger. A thermal management system keeps everything at the right temperature during super-fast charges.

If fuel efficiency is a priority, the basic battery option gives you 58 kWh and is estimated to last over 240 miles. While the EPA has yet to release its estimates, we expect at least similar ratings to the previous generation, which achieved 132 MPGe city and 98 MPGe highway.

Exterior Updates

The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 will showcase subtle yet impactful exterior updates. Hyundai has refined the design to include sleeker lines and a more aerodynamic profile. The high-power N variant is lower and wider, giving it a strong, sporty feel. It features a sharp body shape, redesigned front and back bumpers, and a slightly larger rear spoiler on top of the hatch. These changes enhance its aesthetic appeal while contributing to fuel efficiency. You can expect 21-inch light-metal wheels with special Pirelli P ZERO tires for excellent traction.

A robust XRT trim joins the lineup and offers a higher ride height, exclusive bumpers, and all-terrain tires. New color options, including Ecotronic Gray and Atlas White, and updated wheel designs will also be available, allowing you to personalize your ride.

Interior Feature Refresh

The 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5's cabin will be refreshed and upgraded. However, many existing features will remain, such as a digital dashboard, eco-friendly materials, and a head-up display with augmented reality.

Its flat floor provides more space for passengers and cargo, while the reclining front seats, complete with footrests, allow you to sit back and relax as you charge up. Plus, a longer wheelbase than the three-row Hyundai PALISADE means you can expect plenty of front- and rear-seat passenger room.

Hyundai has made some changes, enhancing comfort and usability with new materials and updated design elements. The interior will feature advanced ergonomic improvements, additional storage solutions, and updated seating options for even more comfort on longer journeys.

The redesigned layout and upgraded finishes reflect Hyundai's commitment to creating a high-quality, enjoyable driving experience.

Technology and Safety

Technology and safety features in the 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 will get a significant upgrade. For example, the wireless phone charging pad has moved to the top panel, and easy-access buttons now provide quick control of the heated seats and steering wheel. The latest model will incorporate new tech enhancements, including an upgraded infotainment system with a larger touch screen and a more intuitive user interface.

Hyundai is also expanding its suite of safety features with the latest driver-assistance technologies. You can expect advanced features, such as improved adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and enhanced collision avoidance systems, all designed to keep you and your passengers safe.
